Invocation is when a client declares a disaster and the Business Continuity Plan is in effect. FDR will agree with its clients on a list of senior officials who will be able to call into our centre to authorise an invocation / disaster. This will then alert FDR staff of an invocation that is to take place.

In the event of an invocation, clients can have access to the site within a minimum period of four hours, and for duration of up to 2-3 weeks thereafter.

Upon declaring a disaster FDR would have a separate administration team who would coordinate various accommodation and transportation arrangements to receive the staff from the client’s site. Initial transport from the client site will be organised by the client and daily travel from hotels to FDR centre will be arranged by FDR’s team. A list of key staff arriving to the site will be with FDR team members and it is important for clients to update this list as per their employee attritions and changes. ID cards will be ready for the staff arriving to the site and upon arrival there will be a registration process and ID cards along with Health & safety Guidelines will be issued to all staff including Fire evacuation plans will be issued with all Exit areas shown. Your staff would be accommodated within a secure work area suite, and would not be expected to share the same space with another company in the event of multiple invocations / disasters.

Following a disaster, both voice and data accesses are re-instated, with calls switched through to an alternative site. As well as routing of incoming calls, standard caller identification processes, held in the company’s database, can also be made operational to ensure that work practices change as little as possible. It is also possible to include fully integrated voice Automated Call Distribution (“ACD”) solutions along with additional management information.

Remote initialisation and administration, combined with FDR’s 24 hour response centre, means that your environment recovery starts before you even arrive on site.

The following will be the technology set-up between our clients and FDR:
  • Deployment of the desktop front screens or workstations, onto a standard PC specification at our site. This will enable the rapid restoration of your operations;
  • Basic server operating system and backup software to servers. This will provide a base point for you to rebuild your applications as soon as your staff arrive on site;
  • VoIP technology will allow direct the links to be pointed directly to the Clients host site in the UK / USA or wherever it may be thereby allowing immediate connectivity;
  • Firewall configurations and authentications will take place with all pre-configured setup being rolled out;
  • The implementation of telephony application will allow FDR to remotely restore your entire telephone environment, including voice announcements within minutes of an invocation;
  • Discrete virtual tenant partitions on the telephone system to ensure that during a multiple invocation, each customer will be able to recover to any site or suite with no loss of security, functionality or speed of recovery; and
  • Immediate implementation of data to the telephony system will allow you to run the same call distribution.
